Go Bags for Foster Children

Penny, Michele, and Carla from Pike County Children and Youth Services join Pastor Jenn at The Giving Tree, which has suggested items for this project at its inception during Lent, 2022. It is now an on-going project. MUMC  collects items children need when it is necessary to remove them from their homes and they don't have time to pack. Items in the bags include age appropriate things like toothbrushes, hair clips, onesies, diapers, teddy bears, deoderant, etc.

UMCOR Disaster Relief

UMCOR stands for United Methodist Committee on Relief and brings aid all over the world.  100% of every donation to UMCOR goes directly to efforts the need identified, 0% goes to overhead costs.

Milford UMC has participated in UMCOR projects, collecting materials to be used for safe home recovery following flood damage, assembling buckets with cleaning supplies as designated by experts.

Currently, we have been supporting UMCOR in their work communicating with partners and actively exploring the coordination of the humanitarian response in Ukraine. If you would like to make an on-line donation in support of Ukrainian response efforts, you can do so by going to: www.umcmission.org  Advance #982450.  You will also be supporting efforts to help in Turkey and Syria where earthquakes killed tens of thousands of people and affected millions more on February 6,  2023.

Annual Back to School Backpack Kits

Milford UMC annually assembles Home/School Learning Kits to be distributed to students in our community.  We work with various organizations and agencies to see that they go where they are needed.

Angel Giving Tree

Each year at Christmas, we support local families and buy Christmas gifts for children in need. Members of the congregation are able to take a child's wish list, purchase what they can, and return it to the church for gifting to the child.  Gift Money cards are also welcome when shopping is difficult. Christmas 2025 saw 60 local youths receive items from their wish lists.
